WHO WE ARE

ABOUT GREEN POWER EMC

Green Power EMC is a not-for-profit corporation founded in 2001 to support 38 of Georgia’s EMCs in their search for renewable resources. It is the largest operational green power program in the Southeastern United States. Green Power EMC serves its Member EMCs by finding, screening, analyzing and negotiating power purchase agreements with Georgia-based renewable resource providers including solar, landfill gas, hydro, wood waste and wind.

In addition to sourcing renewable energy, Green Power EMC also offers the SPARK Energy Education Program®, a multi-disciplinary program that provides curriculum and educational tools to teach students about energy production, conversion and efficient use.

MISSION

Our mission is to facilitate procurement and marketing of electricity from cleaner, greener Georgia sources, add it to our Member EMCs’ power mix, and build member-owned loyalty by generating awareness about our environmental product offerings and services.
